Based on its full satisfaction with the Picanol machines Menderes has recently placed an order for another 105 airjets. Menderes Tekstil was founded in Sarayköy, Denizli (Turkey) in 1958. Now after more than half a century the company leads the global market for home linens and furnishing fabrics. The continued growth of this successful textile company is evident in the state-of-the-art technology and facilities. Menderes Tekstil houses seven integrated production facilities on its 200,000 m² covered site and employs 4000 highly skilled workers. With its latest production technology and ever increasing sales figures, Menderes Tekstil is the world’s largest producer of home textiles.
Menderes Tekstil is a member of Akça Holding. Menderes Tekstil produces 60,000 kg of yarn per day, 750,000 m² grey cloth, 900,000 m2 dyed fabrics, 120,000 m² interlining and 70,000 sets of bed sheets from the world’s premium quality cotton. The weaving plant is equipped with Picanol airjet looms producing 750,000 m² of fabric per day in various widths and qualities. Most of the output is cotton, but the facility can also accommodate special orders with cotton-synthetic fiber mixtures.
Menderes Tekstil bought its first airjets from Picanol in 1999 starting with 12 OMNI machines. After a short trial period it subsequently acquired OMNIplus and OMNIplus 800 machines in widths of 250 and 340 cm, and the total installed base now amounts to 267 Picanol airjet machines. The Menderes product line consists of bed sheets and linens, 100% cotton woven and knitted fabrics, synthetic and cotton fabrics, collar linens, upholstery cloths, curtain fabrics, pillow covers, specialized home textile products such as waterproof, dirt-free, permanent anti-bacterial and rugged sunshade and other synthetic mixed fabrics.
