The Italian company Serica della Marca recently changed its name to Serica 1870, a reference to its foundation year. This company has distant roots but by itself a date does not create an entrepreneurial success story. From the foundation of the mill in 1870 to the beginning of Tessitura Serica Trevigiana's activities in 1948, its further consolidation as "Serica della Marca" and today's "Serica 1870" it has never stopped innovating. With a century of experience the company produces high-quality silk and mixed silk fabrics for leading fashion and clothing companies. It constantly invests in advanced technologies and directly controls the entire production process, transforming yarn directly into distinguished fabric. The weaving department has 42 Picanol OptiMax rapier machines weaving at speeds of up to 550 RPM and efficiencies of over 96%.
