Orta Anadolu

"Our technical team is very satisfied with the OptiMax results."

This is really beyond our expectations. Orta Anadolu was established in 1953 as a spinning & weaving factory. It was restructured to manufacture denim in 1985 and has since been operating globally. The vision was not just to produce denim fabrics but to work with the best brand names in the industry. Soon Orta Anadolu became a preferred manufacturer to worldwide recognised jeanswear brand names. Levis appointed Orta Anadolu as a 01 fabric manufacturer confirming the quality of the vintage denim production capability and as the market evolved Orta Anadolu proactively started offering fabrics and services for the sportswear brands as well as the fashion brands.

Today the production capacity reaches 60 million meters with the 2 vertically integrated plants in Kayseri Turkey and Manama Bahrain. The company headquarters is in Istanbul and through the global sales and marketing operation Orta Anadolu serves brands and manufacturers in Europe, USA, Colombia, Australia, Bangladesh, Japan, North Africa and Turkey. The focus remains on strong partnership understanding with the customers who are valued as the main asset of the company. The production infrastructure is constantly updated according to the needs of the market. This is where Picanol comes in the picture. State-of-the-art OptiMax machines replaced the projectile technology and were installed in the Kayseri plant. Recently OptiMax machines were ordered for the sister company Orkar (also in Kayseri) and Bahrein (the former Manama Textile mill, which has been taken over by Orta Anadolu). The OptiMax machines reach efficiencies in average of 95%. Orta Anadolu markets Ordenim, Orcotton, and Denimus brands worldwide including 7 for all Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, GAP, Banana Republic, Levi’s, Diesel, Replay, Meltin’ Pot, Fornarina, G-star, Lee, Wrangler, M&S and H&M. Comitted to providing unmatched customer experience, Orta offers value-added projects for its clients. Denim Academy, the denim training program, outlines the production process from A to Z. Denim Service, the garment manufacturing and laundry unit, aims to provide conceptually dedicated, faster product development-service approach.

To extend its social responsiveness, Orta has started to produce certified organic cotton denim fabrics as of September 2006. Orta currently works on Recycled Denim, DenimAg (Silver Denim), Sorona (corn-based yarn) and Organic Denim. G-Star RAW Sustainable programme which was launched in London is using Orta Nettle Denim as an exclusive product. Nettle denim is manufactured with a blend of organic cotton and nettle plant fibers, to create sustainable denim with a reduced environmental footprint. Orta Blu is the sustainability division of Orta Anadolu. Its mission is as follows: To inform people about the efforts made by Orta in saving energy in its production facilities. To launch hands-on social missions where through our products and our involvement we collaborate with NGOs around the world. To promote the concept of Upcycling, both by example and by helping our online community understand how they can make a difference even with small changes. To create an online community (The Blu Tribe) driven by interest in fashion, jeans, and style as part of a sustainable lifestyle. To share Orta’s technical knowledge with schools, colleges, clients and individuals through our Denim Academy, its workshops and its publications.
