Installation of solar panels and charging places

Our society is changing rapidly, with sustainability and attention to our carbon and ecological footprint playing a central role. Investing in green energy and the greening of the vehicle fleet is obviously an important part of this change.

As a company, we take responsibility in this area. Not only our machines are designed with sustainability as a baseline, but we also have a clear ambition to reduce drastically the impact of our operations on the environment, now and in the future.

This is why we recently invested in solar panels at our company premises in Ieper (Belgium). In total, 3,061 solar panels have been installed with a total capacity of 1.73 megawatts.

The installation of these solar panels is just a first step. More solar panels will be installed on other roofs of our company buildings and at our new headquarters in a later phase. Together with the BTES field (borehole-thermal-energy-storage), this will ensure an almost CO2 neutral way of heating and cooling the new office building.

Additionally, we also installed 33 charging stations, representing 66 charging places, on our main parking area in Ieper. The charging places are available not only for our employees but also for our customers, visitors, and suppliers.

Fossil fuel cars will not disappear immediately, but electric vehicles are clearly on the rise. And this trend will undoubtedly continue in the coming years. That’s why the charging infrastructure will also be further expanded at our new headquarters. In this way, we are taking another step toward renewable energy and further reducing our CO2 emissions.
